It's really a feeling of being in a quagmire. Energy is wasted and nothing is gained.
Fortunately, when I was chatting with a friend, she recommended me a book called The Artist's Road, written by American creative writer Julia Cameron. There was once a Chinese version called "Creativity is the Transaction of the Soul"). I read the German version.
In this book, Cameron introduces the way to break down obstacles and awaken creativity: taking notes in the morning and dating artists. Today I'll start with morning notes.
Let me talk about my experience first. I practice according to the morning notes introduced in the book and the related introductions found on the Internet. A year has passed, and morning notes have become my essential homework every day. It is no exaggeration to say that this is my belief and my way of meditation.
Morning notes not only helped me get out of the predicament of last year's life, but also made my writing smooth. To sum up, sticking to one year has brought me the following changes:
1. I gradually defeated the critics and perfectionists in my mind. I can start.
I no longer belittle what I write. Instead, we regard the first draft as a plastic material and improve it through modification.
I don't wait for inspiration or think I can write. But write it first.
4. Morning notes inspire me. Because I no longer wait for inspiration to come to me, but greet it by writing morning notes.
I no longer feel that I have nothing to write about.
6. Taking notes in the morning has improved my sense of happiness. When writing morning notes, write down your little doubts and happiness, as well as your troubles, pains, fears and anxieties. Morning notes help me clear my emotions and become a self-treatment method.
7. Morning notes make me more self-aware. Writing morning notes is a dialogue with yourself, through which your true feelings emerge.
8. Morning notes become the basis for me to arrange my day. Writing morning notes can help me clear my mind and let me pay attention to what I should pay attention to the next day.
My morning notes are still going on, and it has brought me more benefits than that. Now I will share it with you.
According to the author's suggestion and my own practice, I summarized the writing methods and precautions of morning notes:
1. Time: Write every day, as soon as you get up every morning, before you start doing other things. You can go to the toilet and drink water.
2. Tools: Be sure to use handwriting, paper and pen. The author says that handwriting can better connect ourselves with our innermost thoughts.
3. There are no rules. Morning notes are stream-of-consciousness writing. Write down the thoughts that flash through your mind on paper. For example, "hey, I'm going to get up before I sleep well." I am so tired. " If your mind is blank and you really don't know what to write, write: "I have no idea, nothing to write." Oh, the weather seems nice today. "
4. Morning notes can start from your current environment, mood and thoughts. Write down the plan for the day at the back.
Don't let the pen stop while writing. I really can't write it. Just draw a few strokes or circles.
6. Write one page A4 or two pages A5 every day, no more, no less. Personally, I prefer to write in A5 notebook.
7. Don't listen to the criticism of perfectionists or critics in your head, keep writing.
8. Don't read. If you really want to see it, you have to wait at least eight weeks. Never show anyone your morning diary.
Morning diaries are not limited to writers. Painters, poets, sculptors, even lawyers, housewives and other people who are not engaged in art can practice. Anyone who wants to awaken their creativity can start writing morning notes.
On March 6, another way to awaken creativity was updated: the artist's date.
