Ankang University is a provincial-level multi-disciplinary full-time undergraduate college, a national innovation and entrepreneurship training program for college students, and the first batch of national outstanding agricultural and forestry talents education and training program reform pilot colleges. The school is divided into Jiangnan Campus and Jiangbei Campus, covering an area of 8 13 mu, with a total area of 276,202.14 square meters, and the assets of teaching and research instruments and equipment are 66.086 million yuan.

The school, formerly known as Ankang College, was closed in 1963 due to financial difficulties, and it was not re-established until 1978.
