Introduction of French Library
The new French library, the Mitterrand National Library, is also one of the largest libraries in the world. Located on the Seine River in the southeast of Paris, it was formerly a private library established by the Louvre, King of Charles V, in 1386. At that time, there were only 800 manuscripts, which later developed into the Royal Library. As the King of Francis I issued the Montpellier Decree on September 28th, 1537, it was stipulated that all publications must be handed in to the museum, so that French publications were kept in the museum completely.
