Later, due to the deterioration of the war, he moved back to Kunming, Yunnan Province and changed his name to "National Southwest Associated University". In order to protect the rare books of Peking University Library, Mao Zishui personally went from Changsha via Annan (now Vietnam), Guilin, Humen, Hong Kong, Haiphong, and then via Dianyue Road to Kunming, and arrived at the school safely.
During 1949, at the invitation of Fu, an old friend and then president of Taiwan Province Provincial University, he went to Taiwan to teach Chinese, The Analects of Confucius, translated literature and the history of Chinese science in China Literature Department of Taiwan Province Provincial University, and to teach Chinese rhetoric discussion and Mencius exegetical discussion in China Institute of Taiwan Province Provincial University. He has taught at Taiwan Province Provincial University for 37 years. At the same time, Mao Zishui also served as the executive director of the Chinese Language Society of Taiwan Province Province, the advisory member and chairman of the National Committee for Long-term Development Science, the editor-in-chief of New Era and the reviewer of Academia Sinica.
1973 After Mao Zishui retired, despite his age of 8 1, he still worked as a part-time professor at the Institute of Chinese Studies of Taiwan Province Provincial University, and was hired as a chair professor by Fu Jen Catholic University to offer courses such as special discussion on Chinese studies for doctoral students.
