Historical influence of Xiling printing society
"People are impressed by their collections, and the club is impressed by their place names." Xiling Printing Society is famous for its proximity to Xiling Bridge in West Lake. "Sheng Tao listens to East Zhejiang, and the Indian faction talks about Xiling", and Xiling Printing Society is the most prestigious non-governmental academic group studying epigraphy and seal cutting in China.

Seal cutting is an extremely valuable cultural heritage unique to China, which combines calligraphy with seal cutting. India's history can be traced back to the Warring States period, but it was after the Tang Dynasty that it entered the art field from practicality.

Mr. Wu Changshuo, a great master, once said: "There is a reason why the Zhejiang School is popular all over the world and the Society was established." . The appearance of printing press benefited from the formation of Zhejiang School. During the Qianlong period of Qing Dynasty, the Eight Schools of Xiling, headed by Ding Jing, a master of Zhejiang School, rose, with a simple and vigorous style, striving to catch up with Qin and Han Dynasties and create a new style. During the period of Qianlong, Jiaqing and Daoism, it was the first time that he became the leader of the printing industry for more than 100 years and became a peak in the history of Indian studies.

In the past 100 years, the printing society has formed a scale with the painstaking efforts of its members. Creating an exquisite and elegant garden landscape at the western end of Gushan Mountain, with Yinshan Pillow Gushan Mountain in the north and three islands in the lake in the south, is the uniqueness of Hushan Mountain. It is also integrated with the landscape gardens with humanistic interest, which can be described as "the lakes and mountains win, and the stone is open".

There are many buildings in the scope of the printing house, but because of its exquisite overall conception and reasonable scale, it gives people a kind of cordial and pleasant feeling. Zhuting, Baitang, Shanyu Louku, Yin Bao Shanju, Zhaosi Pavilion and Guanle Building are all built on the mountain, hidden among green trees, and decorated with Jinlianchi, Yinquan, Xianquan, Shifang, Huayan Pagoda, Amitabha Pagoda, Shijiao Pavilion, Diaoxian Pavilion, Xiaolong Hongdong, etc., which are arranged skillfully, just like printing. Numerous plaques, doorsills, inscriptions, cliffs, statues and niches are dizzying, revealing a strong stone flavor in landscape gardens.

In Yangxian Pavilion, Liangtang, Monument Pavilion, Sanlao Stone Room, etc. There are many exquisite stone inscriptions collected by members of the printing press over the years, especially the tablet of Han San Lao, which is preserved in the vigorous and simple stone room of San Lao. It is the earliest stone tablet discovered in Zhejiang so far, nearly 2000 years ago, and it is very rare in Jiangnan area.

The literati association is one of the traditional cultural forms in China, such as the Fu Society in the late Ming Dynasty, the Nanshe Society of poets such as Liu Yazi and Chen, and the Chinese Architecture Society such as Liang Sicheng in modern times. They have played an important role in inheriting and carrying forward China's traditional cultural spirit and spreading advanced ideas, and have also achieved fruitful academic results.

The printing society also inherited this fine tradition and founded the Chinese Indian Association, so it is known as "the best society in the world". Over the past 100 years, Xiling Printing Society has developed from a purely folk academic group to an international academic institution. After Wu Changshuo, Ma Heng, Zhang Zongxiang, Sha Menghai and Zhao Puchu successively served as principals. During this period, celebrities came forth in large numbers, such as Lai Chusheng, Huang, Pan Tianshou, Fu Baoshi, etc.

As an academic group, Xiling Printing Society has a history of nearly a hundred years. Its academic status and social reputation are not only unique in the domestic and foreign publishing circles, but also influential in Japan, South Korea and Southeast Asia. It has been recognized by many authoritative dictionaries such as Cihai and Xinhua Dictionary. Its long history, profound cultural connotation, great international influence and high social reputation are unique in China.

As a folk printing society, Xiling Printing Society has a unique appeal since its establishment. The reason is that most of its members are famous. They come from all over the country and even overseas. Even Japanese seal engravers have crossed the ocean to join the society, which is a national and international phenomenon formed by history. In the past hundred years, Xiling Printing Society has nearly 400 members, and now there are more than 250 members, who are distributed in more than 20 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions, Hong Kong, Macao Special Administrative Region and Taiwan Province Province, most of whom are famous seal engravers, painters, appraisers and scholars at home and abroad. Members also include more than 20 international seal cutting and calligraphy celebrities from Japan, South Korea and Singapore, such as Dooan Kobayashi, Mei Shushi and Jin Yingxian.
