The monument is 103 cm long, 6 1 cm wide and 5 cm thick. It is called "Wind and Rain Bamboo" Monument or "Poetry Bamboo" Monument because it is composed of bamboo leaves shaken by wind and rain.
On the tablet, bamboo leaves form a five-character quatrain: "Don't thank Dong Junyi, Danqing is an independent name; Don't be too lonely and pale, never wither. "It is said that this painting was painted by Guan Yu when he was trapped in Cao Ying.
Legend has it that in the fifth year of Jian 'an (200 years), Liu Bei was defeated and fled in the battle of Xuzhou, and Guan Yu stayed in Cao Ying to protect the two emperors. Cao Cao loved Guan Yu's bravery and loyalty. On the third day, a small banquet was held, and on the fifth day, a big banquet was held to give the beautiful woman gold, silver and war horses to win his heart and get him in. Guan Yu made great contributions to Cao Cao, beheaded Yan Liang and punished Wen Chou. Cao Cao played the role of Emperor Xian of Han Dynasty and named him "the Pavilion Hou of Han Shou". But when Guan Yu learned that Liu Bei was with Yuan Shao, he wanted to resign from Cao. After some thinking, I conceived this "wind and rain bamboo" picture composed of five-character quatrains. Taking bamboo as a metaphor, he drew hidden poems and gave them to Cao Cao. He "sealed gold" to protect the two emperors' sisters-in-law, rode Ma Qianli alone, passed five customs and killed six generals, and found Liu Bei. Cao Cao saw this "Wind and Rain Bamboo" and pondered it for a long time. Only then did he realize that Guan Yu's ambition was strengthened and he admired his loyalty more and more, so he sent someone to chase him and gave him gold and brocade robes.
In addition, Guan Yunchang was trapped in Cao Cao's camp. Although he was treated well by Cao Cao, "money bribes don't move his heart, and Jue Lu doesn't move his will." He misses Liu Bei every day and asks about his brother's whereabouts. At the same time, in order to show his mind, he devoted himself to the painting of this calligraphy and painting. Because the picture is composed of pieces of bamboo leaves, it was kept from Cao Jun's eyes and ears, and was given to Liu Bei, expressing Guan Yu's thought that "the new kindness is thick, but the old meaning is unforgettable".
