Huadu District Library was established in 1962, formerly known as Huaxian Library. 1993 was renamed Huadu Library after Huaxian was removed from the county to build the city. 1In August, 1992, with the attention and strong support of the county government of Huaxian County and Huadu Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government, the new museum was built with a total investment of160,000 yuan through government funding and mass fund-raising, and officially opened to the public in May. 1998. Huadu Library is located at No.38 Bao Hua Road, Xinhua Town, with an area of 17.4 1 mu and a building area of 8630.3 square meters. The building is spacious and bright, with beautiful environment and complete facilities. It is the largest public library in Guangzhou and county-level cities and one of the important cultural facilities in Huadu District. The library has more than 460,000 books and more than 700 kinds of newspapers and periodicals. There are many service windows open to readers, such as adult reading room, newspaper reading department, reference department, local literature department, children reading room, study room, lecture hall, multimedia reading room and reading room for the blind. Huadu District Library adheres to the service tenet of "reader first, service first", actively develops various service projects, holds various reader activities with rich contents and forms, and provides readers with various information consultation and services. It is closed all day on Wednesday. It will be closed at 9: 00-2100 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, and at 9:00- 17:00 on Saturdays and Sundays.
