The staff of the German National Library
The staff of the German National Library are national civil servants. They are civil servants of the government, and their salaries are paid by the state. Librarians are divided into three grades: junior librarians, intermediate librarians and senior librarians. As a librarian of civil servants, you must have corresponding academic qualifications. From elementary to intermediate, and then to advanced, we must complete the required professional training courses and pass the national qualification examination. There are more than 650 staff in the museum, and the personnel expenditure is 49 1 10000 DM (1998).
