Chen Xishan, whose real name is Weng Tong, is the son of Lu Weng, a native of the Yellow River Estuary, a vegetarian and a grass farmer. Chen Xishan loved calligraphy since childhood, regarded calligraphy as his life, and pursued it tirelessly as a lifelong career.
Chen Xishan insists on making the past serve the present, inheriting and innovating, and his works are "simple, vigorous, elegant, solemn, detached and free and easy". At the same time, Chen Xishan combined with his own practice, constantly sublimated the traditional calligraphy theory to a new height, and put forward that the essence of Qilu's calligraphy style is vigorous, unrestrained and elegant.
