Neijia Boxing is a kind of boxing that practices the theory of Yin and Yang. It originated from Wudang Mountain in Shiyan City, Hubei Province and was created by Zhang Sanfeng, the founder of Wudang Sanfeng School.
The theoretical system and training system of Neijia Boxing of Wudang Sanfeng School are the earliest in China Wushu. Zhang Sanfeng's classic works are the treasures of China Wushu culture, which play a leading role, and many schools of Wushu have benefited from this. At first, Neijia Boxing was mainly popular in Wudang Mountain, Hubei Province and eastern Zhejiang Province, emphasizing quietness, softness and intention.
Neijia Boxing is a kind of exquisite boxing which integrates martial arts and health care. It not only has the characteristics of static braking, combining rigidity with softness, weighing four or two pounds and beginning to move, but also has the martial arts style of flowing water, continuous, combining rigidity with softness and implicit implication.
Neijia boxing can basically be divided into two styles:
1. Wudang Neijia Boxing and Siming Neijia Boxing, represented by Zhang Sanfeng, Zhang Songxi, Wang Zhengnan and Gan Fengchi, lay particular stress on Dan Dao, health preservation and heavy spirit. Most practitioners are related to Taoist priests and do not pursue martial arts very much. In the Ming and Qing Dynasties, this school of famous teachers had a great influence and flourished for a while, but in the Republic of China, it had little influence, but it was always influenced by another style of Neijia Boxing.
2. A family-style boxing represented by Tai Ji Chuan, Xingyiquan and Baguazhang, which is based on big gun skills and actual combat and emphasizes strength. Most of its practitioners are professional martial artists, with extensive exchanges and rapid development. They pursue martial arts and have the spirit of boxers and boxers.
