What are the seven major libraries in China?
The seven collections in China should be seven attics for the collection of Sikuquanshu, namely Wen Yuan Pavilion, Wen Yuan Pavilion, Wenshui Pavilion, Jinwen Pavilion, Wenzong Pavilion, Wen Hui Pavilion and Wen Lan Pavilion.

Sikuquanshu is voluminous, but it has never been published in Fu Zi. Only seven volumes are hand-copied, which are stored in Wen Yuan Pavilion in the Forbidden City in Beijing, Wen Yuan Pavilion in Yuanmingyuan in the suburbs of Beijing, Wenshui Pavilion in Fengtian Forbidden City (now Shenyang) and Jinwen Pavilion in chengde mountain resort. The Wenzong Pavilion in Zhenjiang, Wenhui Pavilion in Yangzhou and Wen Lan Pavilion in Hangzhou have experienced vicissitudes, and pavilions and books have been devastated by frequent wars in modern China history. Wenzong Pavilion, Wenhui Pavilion and Wenyuan Pavilion were successively burned by soldiers. Only Yuan Wen, Jinwen, Wensu and Wen Lan still stand in the world. Details are as follows:

Wenyuan Pavilion is located in the southeast of the Hall of Supreme Harmony in the Forbidden City in Beijing and northwest of Donghuamen. It was built in the forty years of Qing Qianlong (1775) and is collected by the Palace Museum.

Wenyuan Pavilion, located in the Yuanmingyuan, was built in the 40th year of Qianlong (1775) and caught fire in the 10th year of Xianfeng (1860) when Eight-Nation Alliance invaded.

Wenjinge, located at the foot of the northwest plain of the Summer Resort (now Chengde City, Hebei Province), was founded in the thirty-ninth year of Qianlong (1774), and its collection was transported to Beijing in 19 15, and now it belongs to the National Library.

Wenshui Pavilion, located on the west side of the Forbidden City in Shenyang, Liaoning Province, was built in the forty-seventh year of Qianlong (1782). It is the most complete and least lost of the seven libraries, and it is now owned by Liaoning Provincial Library.

Wenhui Pavilion, located in Daguantang, Jiangdu County, Jiangsu Province (now Yangzhou City), was built in forty-five years of Qianlong (1780) and destroyed by fire in four years of Xianfeng (1854).

Wenzong Pavilion, located in Jinshan Temple, Zhenjiang City, Jiangsu Province, was built in the forty-fourth year of Qianlong (1779) and destroyed by fire in the third year of Xianfeng (1853).

Wenlan Pavilion, located in the south of the isolated mountain in West Lake, Hangzhou, is the only pavilion among the three pavilions in Jiangsu and Zhejiang. Founded in the forty-seventh year of Qianlong (1782), it was destroyed in the eleventh year of Xianfeng (186 1), and some books were lost. It was rebuilt in the sixth year of Guangxu (1880) and now belongs to Zhejiang.
