I. Overview

20 13 1 1 I started my internship in the library for more than eight months. This is the first time I officially joined the society, set foot on my job and started a completely different life from the past. Go to work at the specified time every day, and finish the work tasks on time during work seriously, and don't be hasty and perfunctory.

My major is e-commerce, and the knowledge of middle school has something to do with library work. What you learn in college is not knowledge, but an ability called self-study. Only after taking part in work can we deeply understand the meaning of this sentence.

(A), the purpose of the internship

Practical work is an indispensable part of the whole university study life. This practical activity is not only the requirement of school teaching, but also a rare opportunity for us to get close to the library and understand its internal environment. The purpose of our internship is as follows:

1. We should apply the departmental knowledge learned in class to the specific internship work, and integrate theory with practice. On the one hand, we can test what we have learned, on the other hand, we can strengthen what we have learned and learn new knowledge. Through practical work, we should strengthen our understanding of library science and enhance our feelings for this major.

2. Enhance hands-on ability to make up for the lack of more brains and less hands-on in school study.

3. Enhance the work experience of social life and feel the life as a social worker rather than a student. Prepare for future graduation.

4. Understand the general situation of the library, and specifically understand the department setting, functional arrangement and workflow of the library. Understand the overall service environment of the library.

5. Experience the life and work experience as a librarian, and feel the librarian's life and work state, feelings for the library, service awareness, job satisfaction, etc.

6. Practice as a teacher in the library with an open mind. Library teachers have rich working experience, so we need to understand the overall work of the library, the library science specialty and the service spirit of the library.

(2) Internship time

From 20041October 201318 to June 8/20 14, I worked as an intern in the library of Beijing Institute of Electronic Technology for six months. During the internship, he was assigned to the general service desk of the reader service department to participate in the lending management. During this period, I also learned how to get along with others better and how to cooperate with others to complete my work. I don't lack the help of Mr. Wei and other library teachers. Through this period of internship, I went from ignorance to cognition, from initial stumbling to later work.

(3), the internship unit profile

The library of Beijing Institute of Electronic Technology is rich in resources and complete in categories. At present, there are more than 10,000 copies of paper books 1 10,000, 30,000 copies of paper Chinese periodicals 1 10,000, 79 kinds of paper foreign periodicals, more than 10,000 copies of academic electronic periodicals110,000 copies of mirror electronic books19,000, and 33 imported databases, and a literature resource guarantee system combining paper documents with digital documents has been initially established.

The library has excellent conditions and perfect facilities. The library covers an area of about 22,000 square meters and has more than 1300 reading seats. Equipped with one-stop professional study area, reading area, leisure area, research room, audio-visual classroom, multimedia independent study room and other supporting facilities. The library information service management system can realize the "one-stop" retrieval of all kinds of library resources, provide convenient scientific research and teaching information services for teachers and students of the school, provide scientific and technological information, public opinion and business information services for the government and enterprises in Yizhuang area, and establish an information exchange platform for scientific research and production between schools and enterprises.

Second, the internship content

During this period, I have mastered the handling of book borrowing and return, book shelving, book order, book return, book retrieval, book in the library, inter-library loan, book arrears and so on. There are two computers on the service desk, which contain all the work of the library, forming a book management system, which is very complicated but very simple and practical. The book management system mainly has the following functions: the demand of book borrowers is to query the collection of books, personal borrowing and personal information; Library staff operate the borrowing and returning requirements of book borrowers, and at the same time form borrowing and returning statements for borrowers to check and confirm. The operation flow of the system is shown in figure 1.

Figure 1

Borrowers can go directly to the library to look up books. If the book borrower logs into the system according to his own borrowing number and password, he can also inquire about his borrowing situation and maintain some personal information. Library staff have the right to modify the borrowing and returning records of book borrowers, so more consideration should be given to library staff logging in this module.

Third, the internship summary

How time flies! It's time for our internship in a blink of an eye. From 20041October 201318 to June 8, 20 14, I worked as an intern in the library of Beijing Institute of Electronic Technology for half a year. During the internship, he was assigned to the general service desk of the reader service department for borrowing management. In the past six months, I really feel the application of some knowledge I have learned and the close relationship between work and study. I learned a lot from it that I can't learn in books at all. Now I'm going to give a report on my internship in recent months.

When I first arrived at the library, I learned the business operation of the library from Mr. Wang, mainly to adapt to and learn the basic operation of the library management system. The book management system includes the setting of loan days, the setting of loan album number and overdue fine; Borrowing, renewing and returning books; Can query stacks, readers, borrowing information, book return information, statistics of book return fines, provide fuzzy query. I listened carefully to Mr. Wang's explanation, picked up a pen and paper and carefully recorded every business introduction and operation process that the teacher said. I learned a little and often looked through my notes, so that I could get into the role quickly. After two days or so, I wrote down all the basic business knowledge, and I can also serve readers instead of library teachers.

In the next ten days, as I gradually entered the role, I began to do some daily work according to the teacher's requirements. As a library serving college students, the library of Beijing Institute of Electronic Technology just opened during our internship, so it receives a large number of readers every day. In view of the poor borrowing habits of some readers, they often forget where to get the books and put them back on the shelves at will, resulting in the phenomenon of disorderly shelves. Every day I spend some time sorting out the messy books on the shelf, but when I think it will be easy to find them when readers come to borrow them next time, I think my job is very important. The books in the library are arranged by number. If you master the general arrangement of each book and this rule, the whole arrangement will be much easier. In the whole process, I made a detailed comparison between my working methods and other librarians, and found the shortcomings to improve them. I think this job is to find the best solution according to the librarian's many years' working experience, and then the master will take his apprentice to teach the new librarian. This intangible knowledge is very valuable. Although there is no formal writing format like textbooks, good habits are passed down from generation to generation. In addition to being responsible for the whole shelf of books every day, there is also an important job, that is, dealing with readers at the front desk.

Because many students, teachers and readers don't know the book placement in the library, many readers often ask me for the location of the books they need, and I will patiently help these readers solve these problems. Look for books and answer some simple consulting questions, such as: borrowing period, how many books can be borrowed, and when it will expire. After being familiar with computer operation, I began to complete a series of work independently, such as borrowing and returning books, fine, renewing books and sorting out books. It is not difficult to finish the work independently. It is important to work efficiently and make no mistakes, so we need to pay close attention to it. Because I am not skilled enough, readers often queue up. The teacher comforted me that it was a technical job, just do more, and explained to the readers that I was an intern. Instead of complaining about me, readers encouraged me, which made me embarrassed and moved. This harmonious atmosphere between librarians and readers left a deep impression on me.

When borrowing books, you need to open the borrowing system first, and then use the scanner to scan the library card and the bar code of the book in turn to tell when several books in the card will expire. If the loan amount does not exceed a few books, then directly scan the bar codes of the books. If there are overdue books, you should first explain to him what is overdue, then calculate the fine according to 1 cent per day, and finally pay in cash to clear the overdue records.

With the support and help of library leaders and teachers, I strictly demand myself, earnestly implement various rules and regulations, and complete my job well. At the same time, we should seriously study the daily management of the library and better verify the theoretical knowledge in the book. As far as the overall internship experience is concerned, the care of leaders and colleagues has greatly improved my work efficiency and quality. Although it is an internship, I know that as a librarian, I should love my job, not just a means of making a living, and regard it as a process of realizing the value of life. Respecting one's own work can glow with great career initiative, generate a steady stream of motivation, devote oneself wholeheartedly to one's own work and actively complete various tasks. At the same time, understand the hard work of library staff, respect their work, and love and respect this profession. The development of librarianship needs fresh blood and high enthusiasm, but it also needs calm thinking and efforts. I will guard against arrogance and rashness in my future work, study hard and constantly improve my quality.

During my six months in the library of Beijing Institute of Electronic Technology, I realized that I have many deficiencies in knowledge and ability. Thanks to this internship opportunity, I really realized that I have a lot to learn. Work hard to apply what you have learned!
