Ying Xiuren (1900— 1933), born in Cixi, Zhejiang Province, is a monk, and his pen names are Ding Jiu and Ding Xiu. Modern writer. In his early years, he worked as an apprentice in a Shanghai money house and began to write new poems during the May 4th Movement. 1922 Co-authored the poetry collection Lakeside with Pan Mohua and others, and edited a small literary publication. 1925, joined the China * * * production party. Worked in Huangpu Military Academy in Guangzhou and Ministry of Labor of Wuhan National Government.
1927 went to study in the Soviet union, 1930 returned to China, engaged in revolutionary cultural work, and joined the "left-wing alliance". He worked in the Central Military Commission and the Organization Department of the Central Committee, and later served as Secretary-General jiangsu provincial party committee and Minister of Propaganda Department. 1933 died fighting with Kuomintang spies in Shanghai. He is the author of fairy tales "The Story of the Flag" and "Golden Pagoda and Silver Pagoda".

Ying Xiuren founded Shanghai Communications Library with the aim of "making the proletarians have books to read" and moved to Sandri, Baoshan Road on 1925. 1928, the collection of books has increased from 138 when it was founded to more than 5,000 kinds, reaching two or three thousand readers. The scope of borrowing books by correspondence covers the whole country, even overseas Chinese.
In order to contact readers and facilitate the exchange and borrowing of books, our library published the Monthly Report of Shanghai Jiaotong Library from August 65438 to August 0925, and adapted and printed the Bibliography of Shanghai Jiaotong Library. On 1929, the museum was sealed up by the Shanghai Party Department of the Kuomintang.
