We provide reading, borrowing, audio-visual, electronic reading, reference and consultation services for all kinds of readers. Every year, various reading activities, special lectures, and library service publicity weeks with distinct themes are held. In addition, we have made a useful exploration in expanding the scope of services, and have successively entered communities and schools to provide on-site services, especially for vulnerable groups. We took the lead in establishing a Braille Book Corner in Shaanxi Province to provide free borrowing and reading services for the blind.

While attaching importance to scientific and technological knowledge, Xi library should not neglect the understanding of humanistic knowledge. Tielu Forum was specially held (public welfare lectures were held regularly every afternoon). With the help of Tianluge (the earliest library in China) in the Han Dynasty, a series of lectures were held here, and experts and scholars from all walks of life were invited to teach for the citizens free of charge, which created a good platform for building a "knowledge-based" society and improving the comprehensive quality of Xi citizens. In order to better serve the community, the library has opened branches in communities, prisons, special schools and military units in recent two years, which has been welcomed by all parties and achieved good social benefits.
