Yancheng Library has a total collection of nearly 600,000 books, more than 25,000 kinds of electronic books, more than 7,500 kinds of audio-visual documents and more than 0.800 kinds of newspapers and periodicals. At present, there are more than 36,000 licensed readers. The number of readers coming to the library and the number of books borrowed are increasing year by year. 2065,438+00, received 960,000 readers and borrowed 65,438+00 books. Precious rare books of ancient books, rich local documents, exquisite celebrity calligraphy and painting, and donations from all walks of life constitute the characteristic collections of Yancheng Library. Hu Qiaomu, a famous politician in China and known as the "first stroke in the Party", donated more than 1000 precious books from his personal collection to Yancheng Library before his death, and set up the Hu Qiaomu Collection Memorial Room in the library. Xue Dezhen, former president and editor-in-chief of China People's Publishing House, and Jin Yang, former president of National Cultural Relics Publishing House, donated more than 3,000 books to Yancheng Library in 2000. Ling Xiaoyun, a veteran of the New Fourth Army and a retired veteran of the former Ministry of Light Industry, purchased more than 2,000 books and donated them to Yancheng Library on 1999.
