Introduction: A new library management system

Last year, the Information Systems and Services Bureau evaluated some library management systems to replace the current library management software. Now that this evaluation has been completed, we are pleased to announce that the university has signed a contract to purchase the management system of Alibes-Alive 500 library. The new system is currently being implemented, and we expect that the online date will be in the middle and late August 2004.

background

The background of this project can be traced back to 200 1, and the bureau conducted a strategic review of the requirements of the library's management information system. At present, the service of the library depends on the software of three independent projects: Dynix software, the functions supported by the software and core library services, including catalog access and collection management; Sail software for continuous control: ILLOS, software, and rules for managing interlibrary loan.
