In recent 20 years, with the reform and opening up, China's scenic spots have entered a period of rapid development, and scenic spot management systems at all levels have been established one after another. Precious scenic resources have been effectively protected and rationally developed, and infrastructure such as transportation, communication and electricity for tourists' sightseeing, investigation and leisure, and tourist facilities such as hotels and restaurants have been gradually improved. As a new type of building, tourist reception center came into being. This paper fully investigates domestic examples. From the perspective of scenic spot planning, combined with the theory of public building design, architectural space design and environmental design, this paper systematically and deeply discusses the specific examples of site selection and layout, architectural design, spatial environment and external environment design of a number of excellent tourist reception centers. It provides sufficient theoretical basis and systematic creative methods for the architectural design of tourist reception center. The tourist reception center has three main functions: display, service and management. The functional requirements of a building determine its functional composition, plane combination, spatial layout and partition form of indoor space. In architectural design, convenient traffic flow lines should be organized while meeting the corresponding functions. It also creates a comfortable and rich indoor and outdoor space environment. The function of tourist reception center also determines its external morphological characteristics and the aesthetic image of the public. At the same time, the architectural style is influenced by the geographical environment, folk culture and economic and technical conditions of the scenic spot. Therefore, the building of tourist reception center should reflect the local regional cultural characteristics and coordinate with the external landscape.
