Hainan Medical College was established on 1993 with the approval of the State Education Commission. It is headed by the Hainan Provincial People's Government and is the only provincial public medical college in Hainan Province. The school's predecessor was Hainan Medical College, which was founded in 1947, 195 1 and merged with the private medical college of Hainan University. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Hainan Medical College and the Medical Department of Hainan University were established. School 1994 was awarded a bachelor's degree; 1996 passed the qualification evaluation of undergraduate teaching work of the state education commission; In 2003, it was identified as a joint training unit for graduate students by the Ministry of Education; In 2005, it passed the undergraduate teaching level evaluation of the Ministry of Education; In 2006, we started international student education.
The school now covers an area of 2096 mu and has three campuses: Chengxi Campus, Longhua Campus and West Coast Campus. Chengxi Campus is located at No.3 Xueyuan Road, Haikou City, covering an area of 538 mu. Longhua Campus is located at No.33 Longhua Road, Haikou City, covering an area of 90 mu. The planned West Coast Campus, covering an area of 1.466 mu, has been listed as a key construction project in Haikou City in 20 10 and 20 1 year, and included in the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" construction project of Hainan Province together with the overall planning project of the reconstruction and expansion of the affiliated hospital directly under Longhua Campus. There are 869 faculty members in the school headquarters, including 88 Gao Zheng, with a score of 145, 348 doctors 106 and 348 masters. There are 444 full-time teachers, including 68 full-time teachers, deputy senior teachers 10 1 person, 89 doctors and 250 masters.
The school is characterized by tropical medicine and health care, so it focuses on tropical etiology, molecular biology, phytochemistry, stem cell research, southern medicine and marine medical development, and has formed research characteristics in the fields of reproductive medicine, tropical medicine, tropical pharmacy, plum hereditary diseases and health care. In the past five years, the school has won 6 provincial outstanding teaching achievement awards and 350 vertical scientific research projects, including 3 science and technology support programs of the Ministry of Science and Technology, 45 national natural science funds, 22 provincial science and technology achievement awards and 99 SCI papers.
The school has the largest library building with the most advanced equipment and functions in Hainan Province, with nearly 800,000 books and nearly 4,000 periodicals. The campus has built a backbone dual-core 10 Gigabit ring network, which is connected with China Education and Research Computer Network and China Network with dual channels, thus realizing an efficient campus network with high-bandwidth wireless network covering the whole campus. Journals edited and published by the school include Asia-Pacific Journal of Tropical Medicine (English version) and Journal of Hainan Medical College, among which Asia-Pacific Journal of Tropical Medicine is the only international journal of tropical medicine in China with full English version, and has been included in more than ten international important databases such as American Science Citation Index (SCI).
