Tianjin University of Commerce, formerly known as Tianjin Business School, was founded by the Ministry of Commerce and Tianjin Municipal People's Government on 1980. During the period of 1998, the school implemented the central and local * * * construction management system, focusing on local management. In 2007, the school was renamed Tianjin University of Commerce.
The school is located at No.409, Guangrong Road, Beichen District, Tianjin, covering an area of nearly 1340 mu, with a building area of nearly 5 1 10,000 square meters, and the total value of teaching and research instruments and equipment is 57 1 10,000 yuan. The library has 2.24 million books in Chinese and foreign languages, 66 databases in Chinese and foreign languages, and 4 188500 electronic books.
The school has more than 23,000 students, including three professional colleges, including Mechanical Engineering College, Economics College, Management College, Accounting College, Biotechnology and Food Science College, Law School, Public Administration College, Marxism College, Foreign Languages College, Science College, Information Engineering College, International Education Cooperation College and Art College, and three foreign language teaching departments, basic courses teaching departments and physical education teaching departments. At present, there are 59 undergraduate majors (directions),1/master's degree-authorized first-level disciplines, and 12 professional master's degree-authorized categories. The school has the right to recommend outstanding undergraduate graduates to study for postgraduate qualifications without examination, as well as the right to enroll graduates from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan and apply for a master's degree.
The school insists on discipline construction as the leader, and the disciplines of economy, management, engineering, law, literature, science and art develop in harmony and support each other, which has distinctive business characteristics. The discipline of power engineering and engineering thermophysics was selected into the list of first-class disciplines in Tianjin, the discipline of cold chain logistics and modern service industry was selected into the list of characteristic disciplines in Tianjin, and the cold chain energy system was the characteristic discipline group of service industry in Tianjin universities. At present, the school has 7 municipal key disciplines, 1 Engineering Research Center of Ministry of Education, 1 Key Laboratory of Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs (jointly built by ministries and provinces), 1 Tianjin Engineering Center, 2 Tianjin Key Laboratories, 1 Tianjin Belt and Road Joint Laboratory, 2 international joint research centers and 2 Tianjin.
