Bagua was first created by Fuxi according to two astrolabe calendars created by Suiren. It is located in Guadi Village, Hongdong, because this village is surrounded by mountains, and there are eight villages around it, all separated by eight miles, which looks like the bottom of a six-pointed star. Fuxi used divination in landscape painting, so he created gossip. This picture was developed by Zhou Wenwang on the basis of the gossip created by Fuxi.

The most basic unit of gossip is hexagram, which is mostly a special symbol describing the change of sun shadow. There are two kinds of yin and yang. Yang represents sunshine and Yin represents moonlight. Each hexagram has three hexagrams, representing heaven, earth and people respectively.
