The library of Hainan Vocational College of Economics and Trade was formerly the library of Hainan Foreign Trade School. The library of Hainan Foreign Trade School was founded in 1986, and the library building was also built with the upgrading of the college in 2004. The newly-built library of Hainan Economic and Trade Vocational College is the information resource and service center of the college. In recent years, focusing on the teaching and scientific research needs of the College of Economics and Business, we have continued to build information resources and continuously develop and improve the information resource service platform; Expand and improve the information service function of the library, and provide multi-level and multi-type services.

The library implements the curator responsibility system under the leadership of the dean and works under the guidance of the library working Committee. The organization is divided into four departments, namely office, editorial department, information technology department and distribution department. Establish and improve various rules and regulations and post work rules. The library currently has 29 staff members, including curator 1 person, deputy curator 1 person, and 4 department directors. There are 27 people with college education or above, including master 1 person and 2 with senior titles. Their majors cover library science, information management, computer, economic management, literature, foreign languages and many other disciplines. They are a team with rich practical experience and can skillfully carry out library information services and related businesses.

The library implements the integrated management mode of "storing, borrowing, reading and learning". The library building covers an area of 22,648 square meters. After years of literature resource construction, a literature resource system with economic management as the mainstay, coordinated development of computer, foreign languages, mechanical engineering and other disciplines, and various carriers complementing each other has been formed. The library has 753,000 books (including 44 1 10,000 paper books and 310.2 million electronic books) and 9,970 newspapers and periodicals (including 2,045 paper newspapers and Chinese electronic periodicals). There are reading rooms for social philosophy, economy, education, language, literature, industrial technology, synthesis, reference books, gift books and teaching materials; Reading room for present and past problems; Multimedia room; The electronic reading room and other literature information service rooms have 1370 reading seats.

At present, interlib library automation management system is adopted to realize computer automation management of business processes such as book acquisition, cataloging, book reservation, circulation and bibliography retrieval. LAN can be connected with campus network, China Education Network and Internet through structured cabling and advanced network facilities and servers. In recent years, the library has accelerated the pace of digital resources construction, and successively introduced China HowNet database, VIP Chinese periodical database, Wanfang database, superstar e-books, superstar teacher forum, show reading resources and other electronic periodicals, e-books and related videos. The library also actively carried out resource sharing, joined the Hainan Scientific Research Digital Library Alliance, signed agreements with China Higher Education Document Guarantee System Management Center and China Academic Humanities and Social Sciences Library, * * * enjoyed CALIS and CASHL resources in Chinese and foreign languages, shared resources with Hainan University Libraries, and built a document information resource guarantee system for teaching and scientific research needs.

With the aim of "reader first, service first", the library strives to provide efficient and high-quality services for teachers and students of the college. In addition to regular services, it also provides readers with project services such as thematic retrieval and document delivery. Under the guidance of school-enterprise cooperation and "five in one" school-running mode, the library strives to explore new modes and new ways of service. Based on the working concept and enthusiasm of "service innovation, forge ahead", the "readers' club" was established to actively explore the way of all-round free communication between libraries and readers, create an organic and energetic reading and learning atmosphere, lead readers into a broad thinking space, feel the happiness of learning and growth together, and at the same time provide various suggestions for libraries and build a bridge between readers and libraries. Our library holds "4.23 World Reading Day" every year with long duration, many projects and rich contents, so as to narrow the distance between readers and the library, publicize the library, promote the collection and service projects, and let readers know about the new initiatives and trends of the library.

The library is open for 98 hours a week. The website provides services such as literature retrieval, new book notification, appointment reminder, book purchase recommendation, reader training, announcement and message leaving, and is connected to the campus network 24 hours a day. While doing a good job in basic services, we will constantly improve the level of reference service, establish e-mail channels with all teachers, and provide diversified and personalized services such as telephone consultation, interlibrary loan, full-text delivery, and sci-tech novelty retrieval (agency). There are many forms of user training, which are available all year round. Freshmen's library entrance education has become a system, and the teaching of "literature information retrieval and utilization" has been offered to the whole hospital, and special training or lectures have been held at any time as needed. The library makes full use of modern information technology to expand its service functions and create a comfortable and elegant learning environment for readers.
