Ding was originally a cooker and later existed as a ritual vessel. Its shape is mostly round abdomen, with two ears on the abdomen, three feet on the lower part and, of course, four-legged Fang Ding.

The most famous tripod is Wu Dafang, the stepmother, which was specially made by the king of Shang Dynasty to sacrifice his mother. Named after the words "Wu Zetian" engraved on the inner wall of the tripod. Empress Ding weighs 832. 84 kg, 1939 Unearthed in Anyang, Henan Province. It is the largest known bronze ware, and now it is collected in the National Museum of China.
