Is there any difference in the contents of books printed in the same edition and different times?
Books with the same edition and different printing times are called reprint books.

Is there any difference between reprinted books? There may or may not be, and if there is, there is a small amount of errata, which will not affect the layout, page, format and so on.

On the book copyright page, there is a special version description. Books of the same edition and different times must have the same book number.

What is easily confused with reprinted books is reprinted books.

There are different editions of the reprinted book, and it is not difficult to understand that the reprinted book has made great changes to the original. At the same time, the book number of republished books must be changed, so the book number is different.

We sometimes see that republished books have the same book number as previous editions. In the past, this phenomenon often occurred because the requirements for changing the book number of republished books were not so strict.

(A) the concept of reprinting

Concept: Reprinting is the second (or multiple) printing of books with little or no change after the first printing.

Features: When the book is reprinted, the layout, book number and layout remain unchanged, but the cover and title page can be redesigned; Under normal circumstances, the barcode of China Standard Book Number will remain unchanged, but if the pricing is adjusted, an additional code must be added after the original barcode (the whole barcode needs to be reapplied).

(B) the concept of reprint

Concept: Reprinting is a re-typesetting and printing after major revision of the original book.

Features: Although the second edition is based on the original book, it needs to be greatly modified, and sometimes it will be completely transformed, so it is operated in full accordance with the procedures for producing new varieties, and the production cost is close to that of the first edition.

Reprinted books can no longer use the original book number, and the new book number must be changed; In addition to the title, other things such as cover binding, layout and layout can be redesigned.

Reprint and reprint are both reprints of the same book, but there are differences.

Reprinting only refers to the publishing behavior of the same publishing unit. If a book is first published by A Publishing House and then by B Publishing House, it is not a reprint book, but a first edition book by B Publishing House.
