Who knows the origin of Zhan?
Zhan's family originated from Ji's surname, and came from the descendants of her youngest son, Ji Zhen, who took refuge and changed his surname. The Zhan family was originally a Shan nationality. In the Qing Dynasty, a family member was a military commander in North Korea, and was later victimized by traitors. The whole family was in trouble, only three brothers escaped.

In order to avoid being chased by traitors, and to remember that family members and others were killed by enmity, brothers and sisters added the word "brother" to their surname "Dan" to form a "war". Then the three brothers were renamed Zhan Long, Zhan Hu and Zhan Qing respectively.

Zhan Long, Zhan Hu and Zhan Qing fled to Yongcheng County, the capital of Dengzhou, Shandong Province. During the migration, Zhan Qing disappeared. Descendants of Zhanlong and Zhanhu have survived to this day, and some of them moved to Shandong, Liaoning and other regions in the late Qing Dynasty.

Migration distribution

Zhan is an ancient surname group, with Dengzhou as its county. In the early Ming Dynasty, the descendants of Zhan moved from Sophora japonica in Hongtong County, Shanxi Province, and distributed in Jiangsu, Shandong, Henan, Anhui, Hubei and other places.

When the Zhan family moved, it was a well-off gentry. Zhan, a northern Chinese, moved to Ju in the Ming Dynasty, returned to Confucianism in the Warring States Period, and paid tribute in the middle age in the fifth year of tomorrow (A.D. 1625). He became an official and was taught by Yuncheng County. The Zhan family began to rise. Since then, the fourth generation, the fifth generation, the sixth generation, the seventh generation, and the eighth generation have constantly had people who have made a difference or become officials.

From the ninth to the end of the Qing Dynasty, no one was found in the history books and genealogy who succeeded in the exam and went out to be an official. Therefore, after the Eighth National Congress, there were no more influential figures in the northern Wen Dynasty, and the reputation of the Zhan family in Juzhou gradually faded out.

At present, there are clan members in Wuchang County, Tonghe County, Shuangcheng County, Yichun City, Suiling County, Daqing City, Jiamusi City, Qiqihar City, qitaihe city City, Qinhuangdao City of Hebei Province, wuqiao county City of Cangzhou City and Longhua County of Chengde City.
