Hubei is located in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River, with a transition from west to east. At the same time, the Han River flows through Hubei from northwest to southeast and finally joins the Yangtze River. According to statistics, there are 755 lakes in Hubei, which is known as "the province of thousands of lakes" and is extremely rich in water resources. Here, I will introduce several famous reservoirs in Hubei.

Danjiangkou Reservoir, located in danjiangkou city, Hubei Province and Xichuan County, Nanyang City, Henan Province, spans Hubei and Henan provinces. It is the largest artificial freshwater lake in Asia and the water source of the Middle Route Project of South-to-North Water Transfer.

Zhanghe Reservoir, located in Zhanghe Town, Jingmen City, was started in July 1958 and completed in June 1966. Zhanghe Reservoir is the largest reservoir under the jurisdiction of Hubei Province and one of the famous artificial reservoirs in China.

Fushui reservoir, located in Tongshan County and Yangxin County, started construction in August 1958 and was completed in June 1964. It is a large-scale water conservancy project with comprehensive benefits such as flood control, power generation, irrigation, shipping and aquaculture.

The Bailianhe Reservoir, which spans Luotian County, Xishui County and yingshan county, started construction in the autumn of 1958, and the main dam stopped flood and stored water in June of 1960. It is the first artificial reservoir in eastern Hubei.

Huanglongtan Reservoir is located in the northeast of Zhushan County and the southwest edge of Shiyan City. It was built in 1978 and is a large reservoir with power generation and irrigation functions.

Lushui Reservoir, located in chibi city, started in June 1958 10 and was completed in February 1969. In May 2002, it was listed as a national key scenic spot in the name of Lushui Scenic Area.

The Weishui Reservoir, which spans the four counties and cities of Wufeng, Songzi, Shimen and Lixian in Hubei and Hunan provinces, was started in September 1958 and completed in September 1970. Mainly used for irrigation, with flood control and power generation functions.

Fuqiaohe Reservoir, located in Macheng City, started construction in February 1959, and the dam was basically completed in July 1960. The project focuses on flood control and irrigation, taking into account urban water supply and industrial water supply.

Located in Xibeikou Reservoir in Yiling District of Yichang City, it was filled in September, 199 1. The project is mainly based on water storage irrigation, with comprehensive benefits such as power generation and flood control.

Xiajiasi Reservoir is located in Mulan Township, huangpi district, Wuhan, also known as Mulan Lake. Commencement in June 1959 1 1, completion in June 1965 1. The water surface of the reservoir has been developed into a provincial scenic tourist area of Mulan Lake.
