Tehran University (Persian: UT) is the oldest and largest university in Iran. Tehran University was founded in 1934, covering an area of 225,000 square meters. At the beginning, Tehran University had only six colleges: Medical College, Technical College, Philosophy College, Law School, Academy of Sciences and College of Arts. Later, it gradually developed into the largest university in Iran. At present, Tehran University has 16 colleges, 2 language training centers, 4 teaching and research institutions, 14 research institutions and 3 service and exchange institutions. In addition, Tehran University has several affiliated libraries, cultural centers, medical centers and entertainment centers. Among the comprehensive universities in Iran, Tehran University founded in 1934 is undoubtedly the most famous. The auditorium of this university is named after Ferdowsi, the most famous poet in ancient Persia.
