Wuhu Library was founded on 1949. Over the past 60 years, with the care and support of the municipal party committee, the municipal government, the higher-level cultural authorities and all walks of life, after several generations of hard work, Wuhu Library has developed from a 40-square-meter library with 2,000 books and 4 staff members to a library with14,800 square meters and nearly 400,000 books (including nearly 50,000 ancient books).

Wuhu Library is a public cultural service network supplemented by Yanyudun Anhui Cultural Celebrity Collection (the local literature department of our library), the children's library under renovation (the children's department of our library), the basic service point of Nanrui Community Cultural Center, the Grand Garden Club, the office of retired naval cadres, the Liulang Town Cultural Center, the Yuan Ting Community and the branch of the Third Air Force Division in Wuhu. It has fully realized the automation and networking of service and management, embodied the concept of high technology and humanization, and comprehensively built the Wuhu Cultural Resources Sharing Project Sub-center and Wuhu Digital Library.
