Unlike many clubs, membership is free and open to anyone. They are the ultimate recyclers of books, magazines, music and movies. People can even borrow e-books online from the comfort of home.
I never feel lonely or lost in the library. Libraries are social and usually located in beautiful spaces. Why stop to borrow books when there are many other things to do? Whether you use the computer, take part in activities like children's story time, learn new things like science and technology projects, join reading groups or listen to writers' speeches, everyone has something. If you need anything, the librarian will spare no effort to help you. I once borrowed a book from the interstate university library-the librarian found the right solution for me. What about dealing with many retail stores?
I like to browse the latest and not too new books on the shelf. As a writer, it is exciting to see my own books on the shelves of monash Public Library and Nington Public Library in Si Tong. Do you know that when you borrow books from Australian writers, they get royalties? This will not happen in other countries. I'm glad to know that I can lend an Australian writer's book to support him.
What's your favorite library? I like the view of the Wheelers Mountain Library. You can sit there, read a magazine, overlook the Dandenong Mountains, and watch ducks frolicking in the lake to drive away your troubles. Then go to the coffee shop for lunch and browse the latest exhibition in the gallery. I like the Phoenix Park Library. You can see children playing in the park and then having a painting class in the community center next door. In Clayton Library, you can not only exercise your brain, but also go to the nearby swimming pool and gym after borrowing books.
If you haven't been to the library for many years, try it yourself. You may find that something exciting is happening.
