Shanghai Sibo Vocational and Technical College (referred to as Shanghai Sibo College) was formally established in March 2003 with the approval of the Shanghai Municipal People's Government and the record of the Ministry of Education. It is a higher vocational college with a three-year academic system. It has been officially included in the enrollment plan of Shanghai universities since the fall of 2003.

The college is located in Shanghai Nanhui Science and Education Park, one of the four university clusters in Shanghai. The planned area is 800 mu, with a total investment of 500 million yuan. At present, the investment has been about 65.438+0.4 billion yuan. A 60,000-square-meter building and a 285-mu river course and greening project, such as the basic teaching center, training center, administrative center, library and student apartment, will be completed soon, forming a campus landscape with certain momentum and garden style. All kinds of modern teaching equipment and facilities have invested more than 8 million yuan, including advanced teaching equipment such as campus network, multimedia demonstration, electronic reading, closed-circuit television and small theater, as well as computer technology, language teaching, international trade, modern logistics, clothing technology, graphic design, three-dimensional composition, ceramic art, exhibition, decoration, photography, vocal music and so on 13.

College students' apartments are equipped with air conditioning, telephone, closed-circuit television, network terminal, hot shower, laundry room and supermarket chain, which are semi-enclosed, and students are given certain subsidies for electricity.

The main leaders of the college have many years of management and practical experience in higher vocational education. Professor Yang, former director of the Vocational Education Department of the State Education Commission and national inspector, is now the vice president of China Vocational and Technical Education Association, the consultant of the National Vocational and Technical Education Talent Training Committee and the consultant of China Higher Vocational and Technical Education Research Association. Associate Professor Pan Jiajun, Executive Dean, once served as director of adult education, director of business and economics, director of educational administration and deputy director of management office of Shanghai Teacher Training Base of National Higher Vocational Education.

The college attaches great importance to the construction of teaching staff. At present, all the six academic leaders in place are full-time, including three Chinese-American scientists and three senior professors of domestic education. At the same time, among nearly 1,000 applicants, more than 50 teachers and class teachers were selected in the first batch, and their own full-time teachers and student management teams were established.

The College cooperates with American Assessment Software System (Beijing) Co., Ltd. (ATA) and Education Examination Service Center (ETS) to establish a computer and English teaching platform that meets international standards.

One of the investors of the College is Shanghai Kangqiao Peninsula Real Estate Development Co., Ltd., and the other investor (also the founder of the College) is the first batch of demonstration higher vocational colleges in China-shenzhen polytechnic. The combination of powerful enterprises and universities with rich experience in higher vocational education fully guarantees the educational quality and sustainable development of the college. The overall goal of college reform and construction is to strive to "build first-class conditions, create first-class models and cultivate first-class talents" in similar colleges, and build a higher vocational and technical college with high level, distinctive characteristics and leading position in similar colleges in about 8 years.
