Social Orientation of Longgang District Library
Longgang Library aims to provide free and convenient knowledge and information services for the people in the whole region. When it opened, it put forward its own social orientation:

(1) Open public cultural service facilities. Meet the cultural rights and knowledge needs of the public, especially the disadvantaged groups.

(2) Public welfare social and cultural service institutions. Ensure that all people have equal access to knowledge and realize citizens' relatively fair cultural rights.

(3) Longgang District is an important cultural capital. Library reflects the accumulation degree and development ability of cultural resources. Using library resources is not only the cultural right of citizens, but also the cultural welfare of citizens.

According to this orientation, Longgang Library adheres to the concept of opening library and humanized service, and takes various measures to provide good services for readers and attract more people to read in the library. (1) The storage, lending and reading spaces are integrated, all resources are open to readers, and the opening hours are extended to 78 hours per week, reflecting the service of the library; (2) Maximize the space for serving readers. More than 90% of the library area is a service area and a public exchange area directly open to readers. All reading areas are open to readers free of charge, which reflects the public welfare of the library; (3) People-oriented, providing sincere service and subtle service. At the beginning of the opening of the library, three promises were made to readers: first, anyone can enter the library without any documents; Second, the setting of self-service bag storage cabinet is to provide convenience for readers in need, but it is not mandatory to store bags. Readers can bring books, computers and other learning materials into the library; Third, we should start with "three ones" and provide civilized services, that is, "a smile, a glass of water and a warm word".

Longgang Library will become a symbolic public welfare cultural facility in the whole region, and its management and service will fully reflect the characteristics of electronic information. According to the preliminary plan of digital construction, the whole library will be equipped with more than 500 computer workstations to provide free and convenient network services for all readers. The collection structure reflects the characteristics of Longgang Hakka and local characteristics, and the Longgang Hakka literature database and cultural industry database are built, and resources are shared through the national cultural information resource sharing project and the city's lending and returning system. According to the strategic goal of "strong cultural area", Longgang Library will be built into a modern first-class public library, and the goal of creating a national first-class prefecture-level library will be realized in 2007.
