During the reign of Xianfeng and Tongzhi, Keyuan was destroyed by fire. In the 14th year of Guangxu reign (A.D. 1888), Huang Pengnian, Jiangsu Buzheng, rebuilt and established the "Xuegu Hall" and "Boyue Building" with a collection of 80,000 books. Linchi built a small pavilion named "Haoting". Plum blossom, peach, plum and apricot are widely planted in the park. In thirty-one years, Governor Lu Chunjiang closed the ancient hall and set up a preparatory course for studying abroad. In thirty-three years, it was changed to an ancient school. During the Revolution of 1911, Ms. Zhang founded Dahan Newspaper here. 19 14 years, Suzhou Library of Jiangsu Province was established here. More than 100 plum trees were planted in the garden. Gu Mei, an iron bone red, has the reputation of "the first branch in Jiangnan".
