Official collection and reading institutions in Macao. Located on Holland Park Avenue. Macao Central Library, under the Cultural Bureau, was established in 1895, which is the largest public library network in Macao. It consists of a main library and seven branch libraries, which are distributed on the island and two outlying islands.
Its predecessor was Macau Library, which was once in the same building as Li Xiao Middle School. 1929 moved to the current civil affairs department building, 1983 opened in the main hall of Jacky Street in the Netherlands, with an area of about 2,000 square meters (main hall) and a collection of 300,000 books.
Among many branch libraries, the Civil Affairs Department Building Library and Hedong Library are more distinctive. Cooperation and exchange: The Central Library also holds various types of special exhibitions from time to time.
For example, the 450th anniversary exhibition of Sino-Portuguese relations, the newspaper clippings exhibition of reunification, the exhibition of China ancient books in Hedong Library, and the exhibition of China traditional festivals.
