Honghe College, formerly known as Mengzi Teachers College, was founded in 1978. In April 2003, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, Mengzi Teachers College and Yunnan Radio and TV University Honghe Branch merged to form Honghe College. It is a comprehensive general undergraduate college at the provincial level in Yunnan Province, and the school implements the management system of "building * * management in the province, with the province as the main". The school is located in mengzi city, the capital of Honghe Hani and Yi Autonomous Prefecture, and is the only undergraduate institution of higher learning in Honghe Prefecture.
Honghe University has two campuses, Liren Campus and Mingde Campus. Liren Campus is located at Xuefu Road West 100 m, mengzi city, Honghe Hani and Yi Autonomous Prefecture, and Mingde Campus is located at Xuefu Road, mengzi city, Honghe Hani and Yi Autonomous Prefecture.
