European architecture, unique style, elegant environment, the main building is brick red. Xigang District Library is a public library invested and built by Xigang District Government. Located at No.36-12 Anshan Road (opposite to the West Railway Station), it is one of the landmark cultural buildings in Xigang District, with a building area of 3 100M2.

Xigang District Library was established in 1978 with an area of 387m2. The new museum broke ground on 1 month 1997 and was fully opened to the public on June 28th. In September, 2004, the district government invested 4 million yuan to upgrade the software and hardware of the library, establish a digital library, and fully realize the modernization of business management, networking of reader services and digitalization of information work. It was rated as a first-class museum by the Ministry of Culture.

Xigang District Library insists that "the requirements of readers are our service duty; Readers' satisfaction is the standard of our service ",and open, civilized and enthusiastic service is implemented. The public can enter the library without any documents, and all books and periodicals are open-shelf loans.
