Overview of Jingzhou Library
Jingzhou City was founded in July, 1956, formerly known as Shashi Library, and its site is located in the shady thatched cottage of Zhongshan Park. When it was first built, there were only 8 staff members and only 6,000 books. 1957, the city library moved to Xinmin Street, Beijing Road (now No.91Beijing Road), and its collection increased to 20,000 volumes, with an area of 150 square meters. 196 1 under the policy of "adjustment, consolidation, enrichment and improvement", the library was merged into the city cultural center (book group was established). 1972, the book group of the Municipal Cultural Center resumed lending. 1in may, 978, with the approval of the provincial department of culture and the municipal government, the organizational system of the municipal library was restored and moved back to No.91Beijing Road.
