Private donations from the Clinton Presidential Library
Starting from 1986, in order to reduce the burden of the National Archives and Documents Administration of the United States, the Presidential Library was established by private funds and then donated to the government. At present, the National Archives and Documents Administration of the United States is in charge of 10 past presidential libraries, including Hoover, Roosevelt, Truman, Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson, Ford, Carter, Reagan and Bush, and also supervises the Nixon Library because it is privately funded.
