Gothic architecture
The North Hall is a typical Gothic building. Its four tall minarets, three pointed arches and the circular rose window in the center of the main span create a dignified and beautiful facade, which is more and more white and straight surrounded by pines, cypresses and cypresses. Beitang lobby

Xiku Church Gengzi Incident
Xiku Church was once a focus of the Gengzi Incident. "Jiao Min Lane refers to the embassy district of Dongjiaomin Lane, and Xishiku refers to Xishiku Church. 1900 From June to August, the Boxer Rebellion in Beijing besieged Xishiku Church for a long time. On the evening of June 1900, a group of Boxers headed by Duan Wang began to attack Xishiku Church. At that time, in addition to more than 5,000 French priests and Chinese and foreign believers, a small number of French and Italian troops were stationed in the church. The French and Italian troops quickly launched a fierce battle with the Boxer Rebellion, eventually forming a siege. Boxers besieging the church attacked the church with homemade fire dragons, bombs, levers and other firearms, while the defenders confronted it with fast guns. Due to the lack of food, after half a month's siege, the church staff ate all the horses and mules and began to eat bark and weeds in the yard. The commander and deputy commander of the garrison and the bishop of the church died one after another. Brief introduction of Sishku church
The former site of Xishiku Church is located at the entrance of Silkworm Pond near Zhongnanhai Lake (now diagonally opposite to the old Beijing Library), and it was opened in 1703.
