Buddha painted books.
In an introduction of Thangka, I have seen this sentence about the introduction of the five-year cycle map.

In this Thangka, there is a big disc with twelve karma on it. A dead master who controls life and death, such as the six divisions in the wheel of karma, holds this disc, and the Buddha points to his son on the left in the upper right of the picture outside this disc. It is this passage that you have to find out and let the Buddha pass it on;

Adhere to this law with perseverance and firm will;

Such as pushing grass, destroying the main force;

When you give up the wheel of life and death, nothing can eliminate the pain.

There is a story about the source of this picture, which I posted below.

The contents of the three realms explained by the Buddha were recorded as words by disciples and distributed in different Buddhist scriptures handed down from generation to generation. In order to let people understand the three realms more intuitively and transcend their connotations, the Buddha asked his disciples to draw the three realms into patterns for people to watch and think about. This is the famous "five-breath reincarnation diagram". Although it is only a picture, it can be said to be the epitome of the whole three realms, all the connotations of the three realms are included, and even the four noble truths and the twelve karma teaching methods have been started from the beginning. Through thinking and meditation on the connotation of reincarnation, people can understand the truth of reincarnation and get rid of the life transcendence of reincarnation. Udayana, the first person to receive this painting, realized the first fruit of Hinayana after meditation. The source of the story is this:

As early as 2500 years ago, when the Buddha was still alive, there were many small countries in ancient India. At that time, the king of Capricorn, one of the sixteen countries in China and India, was called King Ying Jian, a Buddhist king who lived in King Shecheng. King snake city is very famous in Buddhism, and the Buddha once told many classics here. Many classics, mainly the Prajna Sutra, are told by the Buddha of jiusan, the king snake spirit.

In India, there is also a national city called Yun Sheng City, where King Udayana lives. He has a good personal relationship with the British sword king and often exchanges courtesies. But unlike Wang Jian, Udayana didn't believe in Buddhism and never met the Buddha himself.

On one occasion, Udayana gave an armor inlaid with countless treasures as a gift to the British King's sword. It is said that this armor is not only priceless, but also has many functions such as anti-virus and arson. It is a rare treasure. When Ying Jian received the gift, she was worried that she could not find the corresponding gift. A minister said, "Your Majesty, it may be hard to find such a precious gift in the world, but the Buddha, who is far above all treasures, is on our territory. Why don't we ask someone to draw a portrait of the Buddha and send it to Udayana? It is not only auspicious, but also allows Udayana to see the style of the Buddha and accumulate the karma of Fude. " The shadow is firm, and Wang Jimin agrees.

The Buddha heard this request and accepted it happily, and predicted: "Udayana will have great confidence after seeing my portrait, and will gain the wisdom of truth and become the first saint." So the Buddha projected his figure on the canvas, and the painter drew a portrait of the Buddha in proportion to his body. According to the Buddha's instructions, under the Buddha's portrait, a five-breath reincarnation diagram symbolizing the teaching method of three realms, four noble truths and twelve karma was drawn.

After receiving the portrait, Udayana paid tribute to the Buddha, and at the same time seriously thought about meditating on the five-breath reincarnation diagram and the poems on it. Because of the blessing of the Buddha and the maturity of his good career, he realized the first fruit. After filling in Wang Yixin's views and meditation on samsara, Indian temples and later Tibetan Buddhist temples began to draw samsara pictures on the temple gate wall for people to observe and think about its symbolic significance. Up to now, we can still see the five-breath reincarnation picture painted on the door wall of Tibetan Buddhist temples.

The content in the link is more detailed. Now some versions can't see their sons in the upper left corner, but there are pictures with sons in this link to open.
