I am a student of Class 052 majoring in polymer materials engineering in the Department of Materials and Chemical Engineering, and now I want to apply for the national first prize. To tell the truth, I have to say that I have a mobile phone and a computer. Here, I want to thank the current class Committee of my class. They didn't stop me from applying for poor students just because I had a mobile phone and a computer, which gave me a chance to apply. Of course, I also want to thank the department for finally evaluating this poor student and giving me the opportunity to apply for a government grant. Otherwise, according to the unspoken rule of supporting the superior and not helping the poor, a poor student like me is simply not qualified to apply, because I not only have poor grades, but also have a disgraceful history of making up exams twice (not including the freshman year), and I can't meet the harsh conditions of that application at all. Fortunately, the country relaxed the restrictions this year, so I have this opportunity to thank the country.

Personally, although I have a mobile phone and a computer, I can have a clear conscience about the title of poor student. This is not only because they are now ordinary and no longer sky-high commodities, but because owning them does not explain my family's financial situation, because they are all things that I have worked hard to get and can only meet the most requirements, rather than high-performance products bought for me at home. Let me briefly introduce the economic conditions of my family:

My home is in Sanling New Village, fenghuang town City, Laibin City. Thirteen niangs in dry land, no paddy field. They all grow sugar cane. Last year, the harvest and price were relatively good, with gross income 1.8 million yuan. That's it, a family of six. Father has to take care of a cow and has no extra income. My mother kills chickens and ducks in the street. In good times, there are 600 yuan a month, and my eldest brother works in a factory in the street, with 65,400 yuan a month. However, his identity is quite special: since 1995, he has been helping his parents to farm at home for us to learn. Because of years of low income and high expenditure, the housing conditions at home have not been improved, resulting in him being 23 years old now and not even having a marriage partner. His father has said that his summer salary is dominated by himself, and he is worthy of us. Here, I also want to thank my brother. As a younger brother, he has been taking care of our three brothers and sisters like a brother all these years. Therefore, their income should not be classified as family income; Another brother works in Shenzhen, and the money has never come home, and his income is unknown, which is not listed as family income; The other is Xiaomei, now a senior three, studying in No.2 Middle School in Xingbin District, Laibin City. Now it seems that the only money that can be spent is that 18000 yuan of sugar cane. According to 60 tons, excluding 2400 yuan (40 yuan/ton) for cutting and transportation, I went home with my father on May 1 day and bought a chemical fertilizer, which cost 3500 yuan. Excluding labor costs such as pesticides, I have spent almost 6900 yuan. My sister's annual study fee (excluding living expenses) is at least 2500 yuan a year, and mine is 5200 yuan. Now, roughly speaking, there is only 4400 yuan for my brother and sister to live in. No matter how frugal I am, it is not enough for two people to eat and wear outside for a year, and the money will not reach us, because I borrowed 4000 yuan from others this semester to pay off those expenses. How can such a high debt be said to be poor!

Let me introduce my life last year or even my freshman year: working in the first semester and studying at school in the second semester, which should also be part-time. During the period, I worked as a tutor, delivered takeout, handed out leaflets, worked as a waiter, worked as a network administrator, and cut sugar cane. The books I read involve marketing, business administration, economics and finance, historical figures, medicine and other categories, but they don't involve our professional fields, which may be an excuse for my mediocre grades or even make-up exams! In addition, I think there are two ways to get the same amount of things-spend time and work to accumulate experience and study hard. The former gets a salary and the latter gets a scholarship. This also allows me to face my achievements with a peaceful attitude. After all, no pains, no gains. Fortunately, my parents and family expressed their support for my approach. After all, my textbook has been turned over many times. I also want to thank them for their understanding and support.

It can be said that I have been running for two years, and I have to say that I still feel a little. Besides the hard-won money, I also understand that making money is faster than saving money. Because most of the poor people's money is spent on eating, they can't save it anyway. However, as a student, learning is more important. Working part-time outside is a time-consuming process. You can be a tutor. If you are not an energetic person, you'd better not do those jobs that conflict with your lunch break. Otherwise, you have to sleep in class without lunch break, which will make you lose more things, especially in the background of low salary and more and more scholarships. It should be wise for most people to study hard.

So after these experiences, I dare not say what I will do if I can get this grant. I will only be a good student who is determined to take the postgraduate entrance examination, and I can't go out to do anything anymore, because I haven't passed CET-4 for two years, and other conditions are not optimistic. I can't go out to work now, and it will definitely add a lot of burden to my family after one year. Besides, my sister will go to college next year. If I can get this grant, then 2500 yuan can at least give me peace of mind to study for one year, add a little motivation for my postgraduate entrance examination and reduce some anxiety and guilt!
