Xi University of Architecture and Technology, formerly known as Metallurgical College, is divided into two campuses. The school Yanta, Caotang Campus and Huaqing Science and Education Industrial Park cover a total area of more than 4,300 mu.

The total construction area is 230,000 square meters, including 50,000 square meters of teaching building, 90,000 square meters of experimental practice, 20,000 square meters of library and information center, 20,000 square meters of administrative office and 3 10000 square meters of gymnasium.

The Caotang Campus of Xi University of Architecture and Technology is located next to Caotang Temple in Dewu County at the northern foot of Qinling Mountains, covering an area of 2,700 mu. The total investment of the project is expected to reach 2 billion yuan, which can accommodate more than 30 thousand teachers and students after completion.

Xi University of Architecture and Technology, referred to as "Xijian University", is located in the ancient capital Xi. It was built by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of the People's Republic of China and the People's Government of Shaanxi Province. It is one of the "Old Eight Schools of Architecture" in China, a key university directly under the former Ministry of Metallurgical Industry, an institution that has implemented the "Basic Capacity Building Project for Central and Western Universities" and the "National Postgraduate Program for Building High-level Universities", and a key high-level university in Shaanxi Province.
