What is the largest library in Yongzhou?
The District Library is the largest comprehensive public library in Yongzhou, and the central library of Yongzhou. 1994, 1999 and 2005 were rated as national first-class libraries three times, and in 20001year, they were awarded the title of national advanced collective in cultural work. The museum has a collection of 27,800 ancient books, consisting of nearly 10000 ancient books collected from the people at the beginning of the founding of the People's Republic of China and more than 20,000 ancient books collected by Nanyue Library of Hunan Province in 1954. It has been stored in dongfeng town No.2 Primary School (now under the School of Arts and Sciences of Yongzhou Vocational and Technical College) and Lingling County No.3 Middle School (now Yongzhou No.3 Middle School 1993 1 Hunan Provincial Library). Among them, there are only 17 national rare books and 20 1 local rare books, which are rare and precious historical culture. Due to poor storage conditions, many ancient books are seriously aged and damaged, and the number of existing ancient books is inaccurate, so it is urgent to strengthen protection. Since the start of the ancient books protection project, all the ancient books in the libraries in this area have been equipped with newly purchased bookcases, and the preservation conditions have been greatly improved. The district library took the protection and collation of ancient books as the focus of work in 2007, and organized the staff to comprehensively classify and index. At present, the classification and partial indexing of all ancient books have been completed, which laid the foundation for compiling the bibliography of ancient books in Lingling District Library, the catalogue of precious ancient books in Lingling District Library and the digitization of ancient books. The district is actively raising funds, striving for the establishment of standardized ancient book stacks, and making good preparations for applying for key protection units of ancient books.
