East China University of Political Science and Law, located in Shanghai, is the first batch of higher political science and law institutions established in New China, including the national postgraduate construction project of high-level universities and the national first batch of excellent legal talents education projects. It is a China government scholarship student receiving institution with typical experience in China, the first legal master's degree awarding unit in China, a founding member of the Asian Law Society and a founding member of the China-Cultural Exchange University Alliance.
It is a key university established by the Ministry of Justice and the Shanghai Municipal Government, with law as the main body and economics, management, literature, engineering and other disciplines intersecting. Known as the "Oriental Pearl of Legal Education".

East China University of Political Science and Law1June, 952, nine universities, including former St. John's University, Fudan University, Nanjing University, Suzhou University, Xiamen University, Hujiang University, Anhui University, College and Aurora University, established political and social websites in the Law Department of St. John's University in Shanghai; 1958 School merged into Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences; 1963, enrolled the following year; 1966 stopped enrolling students, 1972 cancelled enrolling students.
1March, 979, with the approval of the State Council, the school resumed classes for the second time. In March 2007, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, the school was renamed East China University of Political Science and Law. As of 20 17 and 10, the school has two campuses, Changning and Songjiang, covering an area of more than 750,000 square meters. The school library is the largest legal document center in East China, and the Chinese and foreign legal databases rank first in the national law schools.
The school has more than 8000 students/kloc-0 and 200 faculty members/kloc-0. The school has 2 1 college (department) and 160+scientific research institutions. In the last two subject evaluations, the first-class discipline of law entered the top five in China. In the past five years, the National Social Science Fund and the Ministry of Justice have won the first place in the country.
