Hainan University, referred to as Haida for short, is located in Haikou City, Hainan Province. It is a key university supported by the Ministry of Education and the Hainan Provincial People's Government, the Hainan Provincial People's Government and the Ministry of Finance, a comprehensive key university in Hainan Province, and a key university for "building a first-class university in China".

The school's predecessor was the former South China University of Tropical Agriculture founded by 1958 and the former Hainan University founded by 1983. In August 2007, the two universities did not merge into the new Hainan University.

First, Qiongshan Campus

Qiongshan Campus is the main campus of Hainan University, located at Hope Avenue, qiongshan district, Haikou City, Hainan Province, covering an area of about 1 1,000 mu. As the largest campus of Hainan University, Qiongshan Campus has teaching and living facilities such as teaching building, laboratory, library and gymnasium.

Most undergraduate and postgraduate teaching work is carried out here. The campus environment is beautiful, and the architectural style and tropical climate complement each other. Qiongshan Campus is the core area for teachers and students of Hainan University to study and live.

Second, Longhua Campus

Longhua Campus is located in Shengli North Road, Longhua District, Haikou City, about 20 kilometers away from Quelu Campus. Longhua Campus is the second campus of Hainan University, covering an area of about 300 mu. The campus was put into use in 20 14, mainly used for agricultural science and technology research and practical teaching of rice, winter wheat and vegetables.

Longhua Campus has modern laboratories, farmland test bases, greenhouses and large-scale facility agriculture demonstration parks, which provide good environmental conditions for the teaching and scientific research of the Academy of Agricultural Sciences and related majors.
