How to calculate the printing cost of a magazine?
Many people like reading magazines. A magazine with dozens of pages, tens of dollars, looks like a huge profit. So besides the content value, what is the cost of printing a magazine?

The printing cost of a magazine is often related to the printing process, printing materials and printing quantity. The cost of different printing processes is different, the cost of different printing materials is also different, and the price of different printing quantities is also different (often the higher the quantity, the lower the unit cost. )

The printing cost of a magazine usually consists of four parts: prepress cost (contract, typewriter composition), printing cost (film production, start-up cost and paper cost) and post-production cost (binding cost and others).

We can ignore the prepress fee for a while. Now only the printing cost is counted.

Film production fee:

That is, the page fee for printing magazines, the version we made can be put into use at one time and recycled many times.

Start-up fee:

This refers to the cost of oil, labor, machine wear and tear, etc. When printing, these are included in the start-up fee. If the current printing factory only prints and does not include the later period, then the price is related to the number of copies you want to print. If the quantity is small, it is basically how much is a plate; In the case of large quantities, how many sheets of paper are a ream.

Paper cost:

That is, the cost of the paper needed to print this magazine. Generally, we calculate in sequence. A ream of paper is 500 sheets. ×× impressions we see from books (that is, by summarizing the size and pages of a magazine: if it is 16 pages and 160 pages, then * * 160 divided by16 equals 10 impressions). The printed sheets here include not only the body of the magazine, but also the title page, preface, catalogue and so on.

What is the material of the useful paper? There are coated paper, offset paper, special paper, 55g, 60g,157g, 200g, etc. The cost of these papers is not equal.

Printing fee:

Whether the magazines we print are black and white or color, these requirements are different, and the printed prices are different.

Binding fee:

There are many kinds of bookbinding: folding, saddle stitching, bookbinding, laminating, bronzing, special-shaped, die-cutting, and various processes, all of which require fees, so the more you ask, the more you pay.

These expenses are the basic expenses of printing magazines, and sometimes other expenses will appear and can only be recalculated.
