At present, the representative of green building is steel structure, followed by water-based coatings. Water-borne coatings have outstanding characteristics in service life, environmental protection and safety. For steel structure, not only the engineering bearing capacity but also the ecological bearing capacity should be considered, so the water-based coating is light in weight, which is the reason of steel structure.

Green building concept: refers to the sustainable, renewable and recyclable whole life-cycle architectural design, which conforms to the objective laws of the natural ecosystem and harmoniously gets along with the natural ecosystem, makes full use of the environmental conditions and resources of the objective ecosystem, respects culture, integrates and designs appropriate architectural functions and technical systems, adheres to the localization strategy, has the ability to minimize resource consumption and maximize efficiency, and has the functions of safety, health and livability with minimal disturbance to the ecosystem. Therefore, reducing the load and influence on the earth's resources and environment, creating a healthy and comfortable living environment, and integrating with the surrounding natural environment are the three characteristics of green building design.
