As a place name, Dongzhi has a long history and high popularity.
At the beginning of the "An Shi Rebellion" in the Tang Dynasty, Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty "traveled to Shu" and Prince Hengli was ordered to counter the rebellion. On June 15, 756 AD, Hengli arrived in Pengyuan County (now Pengyuan Village, Pengyuan Town, Xifeng District, Qingyang City), and the county magistrate Li Zun rushed out to offer food and grass, so that the team could be replenished and rested. Hengli (later Tang Suzong) saw that the plateau was flat, the land was vast and fertile, and the people lived and worked in peace and contentment. Compared with the Guanzhong in the war, there is a world of difference. He said, "Eight hundred Li Qinchuan is not as good as Dong Zhiyuan's side." So Dong Zhiyuan became famous all over the world. This is the most widely circulated legend in the local area.
Dong Zhi starts from the west bank of Ma Lian River in the Far East, reaches the east bank of Puhe River in the west, starts from cheung tsing bridge in the south and passes Maguan in the north. The strongest point in the north and south is 1 10 km, and the widest point in the east and west is 50 km, with an area of 9 10 km2, which is the largest in Longdong.
Dong Zhiyuan has many titles in history, such as Dayuan, Pengyuan, Pengchi Yuan and Anhua Yuan. Dongzhi ancient city can be traced back to the Han Dynasty. As for the names of Dong Zhi's county, township, commune and town, they have changed from time to time in modern times.
Regarding the origin of Dong Zhi's place names, whether it is local chronicles or online articles, the following statement has not jumped out so far:
One said: It was named after Jiang Jian Dong Zhibao participated in politics in the twenty-seventh year of Jiajing in Ming Dynasty (AD 1542).
2. According to the inscription on the tablet of Dong Zhifen County, in the first year of Tongzhi in Qing Dynasty (AD 1862), Dong Fuxiang, a native of Guyuan, Ningxia, led the Hui people to station troops in Anhua (now Xifeng area), and then surrendered to the Qing army. In order to stabilize the local area and suppress the Hui army, he was called "Dong Zhi" according to his lewd works. Or to borrow the meaning of "East to Wei Yong" from Greater Mo Yu.
Three said: When Dong Fuxiang led the Hui army in Anhuayuan, he called it "Dong Zhi (word) 3rd Battalion", and later called it this name.
Four said: named after the local Dong Shi family. This statement comes from the collection of place names in Qingyang County, Gansu Province.
Five points: "Dong Zhengtian is generous" in the book of Cen Yunzhuan in the later Han Dynasty. Named after its meaning.
The author thinks that the above statements are not appropriate, and they are all put forward without carefully tracing back and studying history.
The seventh edition of Longdong Daily (1996 04 13) published Mr. Zhang's Dong Zhilve. There is a passage: "There is Pengyuan County in the Records of the Nine Domains of Yuanfeng compiled during the Yuanfeng period in northern Song Shenzong (A.D. 1078- 1086). This shows that the name Dong Zhi existed as early as the Han Dynasty. According to research, Pengyuan County belongs to Pengyang County, Anding County, and it was only in the Sui Dynasty that Pengyang was changed to Pengyuan. Chicheng, located in Sanquan County, Pengyang, Han Dynasty, was established in Sanquan Ancient City in the second year of Sui Yining (AD 6 18), and was changed from Ningzhou to Gyeongju. In the third year of Wude in the early Tang Dynasty (AD 620), Cheng Xiao (now Xiaojin Town) belonged to Fengyi County and was not under the jurisdiction of Pengyang County. Within a county, there are four cities: Dongzhi, Xiao, Chicheng and Ningqiang (formerly Xifeng Town), and only Han Pengyang is subordinate. In addition, Pengyuan City in Sui and Tang Dynasties was Fuping City, which was under the jurisdiction of Beidi County in the Eastern Han Dynasty. 1In March, 975, eight bronze cookers from the Eastern Han Dynasty were unearthed in the northern part of Pengyuan Ancient City, belonging to the head of Lijia Temple in Pengyuan Township. Among them, there is an inscription "Shiping" at the bottom of the copper bucket (pronounced as "Fu" in the city), which proves that the northern county of the Eastern Han Dynasty ruled Fuping City and was the ancient city of Pengyuan. In Dongzhi Town, which is 15 km south of Pengyuan Ancient City, archaeologists have also discovered several Han Dynasty sites such as Cuijiagou and Sigou Temple in recent years, which shows that Dong Zhicheng in the Han Dynasty is very likely to exist. "
After investigation, the author Mr. Zhang, a native of Ningxian County, Gansu Province, graduated from the Chinese Department of Northwest Normal University from 65438 to 0958. He has worked in Northwest Normal University, Qingyang Normal University (now Longdong College) and other units, and has taught courses such as ancient Chinese and Chinese philology. About 800,000 words have been published about the ancient history of Qingyang. He also participated in the compilation and proofreading of Qingyang local chronicles and compiled Qingyang local chronicles in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. 1993 retired.
We looked up the Nine Domains of Yuanfeng, and learned that this book was a national geography compiled by Cun Wang Feng Yi, a direct bachelor of Longtuge, in Yuanfeng, North Song Shenzong (A.D. 1080). The record of "Pengyuan County has four cities: Dongzhi, Xiao, Chicheng and Ningqiang" under the Qingzhou entry of Shaanxi Road is true.
By consulting historical books such as Yuanhe County Records (Tang Li Jifu (758-8 14)) and History of Taiping Universe (930- 1007), it is confirmed that Mr. Zhang's above textual research is well-founded.
This proves that the first three theories about the origin of Dong Zhi's name are backward and can be denied. According to a visit to Dong Shiping (1953, born in April, a senior middle school teacher), a resident of the South Gate Formation in Dongzhi Town, Dong Shiping's family fled from Jingchuan, Pingliang, to Dongzhi in the late Qing Dynasty. So the fourth theory can also be denied.
The Book of the Later Han Dynasty is a biographical history of the Eastern Han Dynasty. The author is the grandson of Fan Ning, a scholar and scholar in the Eastern Jin Dynasty, and is the author of Biography of Guliang in the Spring and Autumn Period. Wendi in the Southern Song Dynasty was born in the second year of Jin 'an Emperor Long 'an (A.D. 398). At that time, Zuo Wei, the general, and James, the prince. In the 22nd year of Yuanjia in Song Wendi (AD 445), he was killed for treason. After his death, the Sui Dynasty unified China in 136.
When Ye Fan wrote "The Book of the Later Han Dynasty ● Cenyun", it was the turbulent period of "Five Lakes and Sixteen Countries" in the Northern and Southern Dynasties. "Although I am in Lu Li, I have the ambition of Dong Zhengtian", which is indeed the most accurate interpretation of the word Dong Zhi. It is also the earliest source of the word "East" that can be retrieved at present. This is also the basis for some scholars to guess that "Dongzhi" place names began in the Han Dynasty. "Although in Lvli, there is the ambition of Dong Zhengtian" is a praise for the historical figure Cenlian, not a place name. The first five words "named after its meaning" are also guesses, lacking conclusive evidence.
In A.D. 1080, Dong Zhi, a place name full of king's domineering but profound meaning, appeared in the National Geographic. This is the pride of scholars who love Qingyang and their hometown, and also the pride of the broad masses of people who live and work in this hot land.
For Mr. Zhang's statement that "the name of Dong Zhi existed as early as the Han Dynasty", scholars who love and pay attention to the history of Qingyang in Gansu need to make textual research and form * * * knowledge.
The reason for this argument is not to draw any final conclusion, but to hope that people will not be misled by some fictional rumors and let everyone have an objective and true understanding of place names.
