The library of Sun Yat-sen University has undertaken many research projects in the fields of library science, philology, collation and digitization of ancient books. The large-scale research projects undertaken include "Digitization of rubbings of Shanda Library" funded by Lingnan Foundation of the United States and "Pearl River Delta Research Database" of CLIS thematic database project of the Ministry of Education.
Among them, the Institute of Medical Information founded the publication Medical Information Collection at the end of 1996. The main content of this publication is to select and collect the latest research trends and progress of life science, traditional Chinese and western medicine, pharmacy, and the latest information of medical education, scientific research, medical management and reform from many newspapers and periodicals. The journal won the second prize of outstanding achievements in science and technology information in Guangdong Province.
