Original: Those who don't learn about the present, those who don't know about heaven and man, and those who don't get close to the immortal Buddha would rather farm and weave to get food, clothing and ears than commit medical crimes! Medicine, therefore, is a sacred profession. It is not that future generations have no research and livelihood, but they have the tools to choose their own skills. We should be wise, have specialized knowledge, be poor, have a sense of heaven and man, think hard about ancient and modern books, and then talk about medicine.
If a person's knowledge is not connected with the past and the present, his knowledge is not connected with the road that runs through the world, his talent is not refined and outstanding, and his heart is not close to the Buddha, that is, he has no compassion. In this case, he would rather make a living by farming and weaving than delay his days as a doctor.
Doctors are a bright and sacred career, not because they have not finished their studies and settled down their lives, so they can solve the problems of employment and career choice. It needs wisdom, hard study, knowledge of the way to connect heaven and earth, and careful study of ancient and modern books before it can be talked about practicing medicine.
"Virtue is not close to Buddha, not close to fairy." This sentence was said by Professor Qiu Fazu, a famous medical scientist and the father of modern surgery, and was quoted from the preface of Pei Zi's On Medicine.
