Book classification is to reveal the library collections one by one according to the subject attribute, content nature, genre form or other characteristics of the book content, and organize them systematically, which is not only convenient for librarians to manage effectively, but more importantly, to meet the needs of readers to find and borrow books conveniently.

Precautions:
China Library Classification is not used as a mandatory standard in all libraries, but the book classification of China Academy of Sciences Library, Renmin University of China Library, Wuhan University Library and small and medium-sized libraries is used in some libraries in China. Moreover, when using the Chinese Library Classification, different libraries will formulate corresponding rules according to their own characteristics and the continuity of cataloging, and determine some categories that are more important to the library.
At the same time, after the fifth edition of Chinese Library Classification, the books issued by libraries in different periods must use different editions, which leads to inconsistent classification. Due to the above reasons, the consistency of classified cataloging data is poor, and it is difficult for different libraries to enjoy it directly.
