The Characteristic Collection of the Library of Central Academy of Fine Arts
The library of Central Academy of Fine Arts has a long history and profound accumulation. With the knowledge and efforts of several generations, a rich collection of books has been formed. Among them, illustrated ancient books, Cologne album of the Republic of China, woodblock New Year pictures, posters, rubbings, famous western paintings, fine arts journals and periodicals of the Republic of China are the main ones. Collected in 1950s and 1970s, it is far superior to similar university libraries in terms of variety, appearance and quantity. As a characteristic collection of our library, it has very precious information value and collection value, and is an important part of our library collection. 1996 when state councilor Li visited our library, after listening to the introduction, he was full of praise for this collection of books. Our library has more than 5,000 kinds of books and more than 20,000 volumes. Judging from the edition time, except for a number of Buddhist scriptures in the Ming Dynasty, books in the Qing Dynasty accounted for about half and books in the early Republic of China accounted for about half. Among them, the remnant of Xiu Xiang's novel A Love, which was written during Shunzhi period in the early Qing Dynasty, is an earlier edition of our library and an orphan in China. Classified, the ancient books collected online in our library mainly include four categories. First, ancient books series, poetry collections, such as Yangzhou Congke, Zhibuzhai series, Jin Zhuan secretary, Xiqing inkstone spectrum, art series, ancient drama series and so on. Second, literary books related to art, such as the history of calligraphy and painting in past dynasties, descriptions of calligraphy and painting, inscriptions on calligraphy and painting, and epigraphy works. , and pay attention to collect different versions, such as wuyue's Notes on Painting and Calligraphy, there are four kinds; Three, illustrated books are ancient books in the string, including painting spectrum, atlas, printed spectrum, note spectrum and other art books. And illustrated versions of ancient novels and operas. These books are one of the highlights of our library's collection in those years, and some of them have not been reprinted so far, so they have precious edition value and material value, such as Hook Shadow Studio in the Mirror (published by Xu Naichang, a famous bibliophile in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China, epigraphy), Hook Shadow in the Mirror and Xiao Sheng I (Guangxu 13 edition), Pictorial Biography of Yuxiutang (Guangxu 9th edition) and Zuisu. Guangxu 17 edition), poetry and painting boat (Guangxu 17 edition), among which, Yu Youren wrote a new collation note on Drawing the Ancient Book The West Chamber, which was photocopied in Jianguzhai according to Wang Xiangxue's Ming History in the Republic of China 12, and the version was very beautiful. In addition to woodcut monochrome picture books, there were also color printed books in the early days, such as the Ming History Scroll published in the late Qing Dynasty. 4. Before the popularization of modern offset printing technology, the Gulong printing technology based on photographic reproduction technology was widely used to copy paintings, photos, rubbings, murals, prints, calligraphy and ancient books because of its realistic effect and both form and spirit. It was once called "the next originality" by Qigong. The ancient dragons collected in our museum in the early years of the Republic of China not only have artistic value. It also played an important role in the teaching of that year. There are more than 100 kinds of such books, most of which are albums of famous painters at that time, such as History of Famous Painters in China (192 1 version), Painting the Sea by Contemporary Famous Painters (193 1 version), and Zhengchang in Chen Zhi during the Republic of China. Bai Weng), Fan Shanshui (193 1 Edition), Twelve-hole Plum Blossom Book (Wu Changshuo's early works), and Intoxicated Temple Landscape Book. As far as the edition value is concerned, there are many rare books in our library's thread-bound books. As mentioned above, in addition to collecting many ancient books with different versions or not reprinted so far, in the 1950s, Mr. Xu Shoushang (Mr. Lu Xun), Mr. Zhou Zuoren, Mr. Wang, Mr. Wang and others also donated some books collected in their lives to our library for preservation, many of which are rare and rare. For example, 1952, among the books presented by the famous bibliophile Dr. Zhang Huai, there are 1300 books on literature and art *** 145, and most of the books have the Zhu Wen seal of "Zhang Bailing's Collection". The inscriptions of these famous bibliophiles especially enhance the cultural value of books. In addition to the above-mentioned thread-bound books, our library also collects large-scale ancient books and books, such as condensed four-part series, series integration, Qing Dynasty imperial poetry collection, ancient and modern books collection, four-part series, and the first episode of four rare books, with a total album number of more than 65,438+00,000. As an important folk art form, woodblock New Year pictures have been popular from Qing Dynasty to before liberation, and gradually replaced by offset New Year pictures after liberation. Since 1950s, our library has collected more than 3000 woodcut New Year pictures. From the origin of the collected New Year pictures, Yangliuqing New Year pictures are the most, followed by Taohuawu New Year pictures and Weifang Yangjiabu New Year pictures, and there are a few New Year pictures from Zhuxian Town, Wuqiang, Mianzhu, Beijing, Fujian, Zhejiang and Nanjing. The collection of New Year pictures has complete sources and diverse styles, and most of them are block-printed in the middle and late Qing Dynasty, and the versions are more precious. As far as the contents of woodblock New Year pictures are concerned, almost all of them reflect the representative contents of various producing areas, such as Yangliuqing's civil and military door gods, doll plays, ladies' paintings, busy farming, operas and so on. Bai Zi paintings in Taohuawu, Wannian Bridge paintings in Suzhou, Nagato paintings, a harmonious atmosphere, top ten busy people in Yangjiabu, Jingshen code, etc. As far as the forms of woodcut New Year pictures are concerned, there are various, such as door gods, idols, nave, moonlight, dou Fang, etc. In printing technology, nearly half of New Year pictures are color overprinting and hand-coloring, among which there are many exquisite prints. Even if it is monochrome engraving, the lines are clear and smooth because most of them are original prints. 1994 or so, our library once made woodcuts. It is worth mentioning that our library also has a collection of woodcut monochrome line-carved Tibetan Buddhist statues printed by Dege Printing Academy. Skilled lines, roundness, exquisiteness, great style and exquisite printing were presented by Wen Jinyang, a professor in our college, in the 1950s. Under the background of the great era, posters are also a focus of our library's collection in the 1950s and 1960s. Posters, as an important part of artistic creation during China's revolutionary war and socialist construction, have been at the forefront of plastic arts in the 1950s and 1970s, such as publicizing the general plan for the founding of the People's Republic of China and participating in political movements. At the same time, the participation of a large number of professional artists has improved the overall artistic level of posters. As a product of a specific era, his painting style is unique. There are more than 13000 posters in our library, which are very rich in content, involving politics (including portraits of leaders, wars), economy (industry and agriculture), science and technology (such as medicine and health), culture (such as model operas), folk customs, society and other aspects. The collection is complete, and there are many fine products at that time. Under the situation that posters have become a hot spot in today's collection, there are many kinds of posters in our library, which shows that collectors are sensitive and responsible for the art of that time. At the same time, comic books were widely circulated in the 1950s and 1980s. Comics, like posters, are not only collections with important characteristics of the times, but also works of art with high artistic value because of the participation of professional artists. There are more than 8,000 comic books in our library, including the classic works of many famous cartoonists. From 195 1 to 1987, Mr. Chang, a famous historian of oriental art, served as the librarian of the Central Academy of Fine Arts. Mr. Chang is quite accomplished in oriental art, art archaeology and religious art, and has published Selected Paintings of Han Dynasty and Research on Chinese Painting Art, etc. , and edited The Complete Collection of China Fine Arts and Paintings. Because of Mr. Chang's remarkable research on stone reliefs and calligraphy, he has collected a large number of exquisite original stone reliefs and calligraphy rubbings, with about 5400 pages. Most of these calligraphy rubbings are original rubbings, and quite a few of them are initial rubbings, which are clear and complete. Some rubbings are more complete than those published, or have not been published publicly. There are more than 6000 single-page paintings in western languages in my collection. In The Lost Treasure in the Ice Room written by Mr. Chang 1989 (included in Selected Paintings of Duanmu Hongliang and Fang Cheng, Beijing Edition of Huaxia Publishing House 1997 Edition), some collections are recorded as follows: "Since 65438+. Among them, Sun Peicang collected a number of oil paintings by famous painters from Europe, Germany, France and other countries for the past Peiping Research Institute, and returned them to the Academy of Sciences after liberation. One day I went to see Lao Guo (Guo Moruo-author's note) and took it out in the warehouse. The original works of famous painters preserved in China are rare. I signed Lao Guo as the Central Academy of Fine Arts, which can play a greater role. With the consent of Lao Guo, it will be transported by car from the library. This has become the basic collection of the exhibition hall of the Academy of Fine Arts, which was also trimmed by artists of the Academy of Fine Arts, and these originally precious picture frames have also been restored. Later, a large number of original western paintings hidden in Sun Peicang's home were also returned to our hospital. These works of art are rarely printed, and the first one or two are kept by the National Gallery. Sun Shi chose the first few photos, only the original one is the first one, and it is not easy to get. Mr. Xu Beihong often praised Sun Shi's diligence and meticulous knowledge, and these treasures were preserved by our hospital behind him because of the teaching of the former dean. "At that time, teaching materials were scarce, and these precious pictures played a very important role in the teaching of our college. The fine arts journals and periodicals of the Republic of China in our library continue to play an important role in major fine arts research and postgraduate thesis writing. Other institutions and even foreign art historians have come to our library to consult this batch of materials. According to statistics, there are more than 500 kinds of art publications 1500 in our library (except thread-bound books), which are rich. Among them, more than 200 kinds of books are not included in the bibliography published in the Republic of China, which should be unique to our library. The special collection of documents and materials in the library of the Central Academy of Fine Arts was collected by generations of staff with foresight, seized the opportunity and worked hard under the specific historical background. These precious collections not only show our profound cultural accumulation, but also play an important role in our teaching and scientific research. As an excellent tradition of the library, it is worth inheriting and developing.
